the day before the day before a long vacation stinks worse than the day before. why, you ask? well, it’s because EVERYBODY wants to go home. EVERYBODY wants the next few hours to be over. and EVERYBODY is a big old pain in the hiney!! many teachers, especially high school, i think, see the time before vacation as a way to wrap up a unit or give a big test–it’s not fair or nice to expect students to remember where they left off the week before…

but i think students just see this time as a form of torture that should be banned, or at least regulated, by the federal government! my students have a project due tomorrow, the day before spring break. (what teacher in his/her right mind actually makes a project due or gives a test–isn’t this some sort of torture??) but,  i let them spend the day before the day before vacation working on their projects. what do i get in return? a big headache. a big aggravation. a big waste of time.

what do they get? most likely, a big, fat zero! i have a list  of students who i think will “forget” to bring in their projects tomorrow–and it is a BIG, long list! will they behave as their track record indicates? or, can they really, really, really exceed my expectations and actually do their work?

well, it IS the day before the day before. miracles COULD happen…

but, that is a BIG april’s fool joke on me!! haha…
